We are here because of our need to represent ourselves. Through journalistic writing we will reclaim our voices in our everyday lives and the world in which we use them. This class and blog exist so we have a space where we can report on our own realities. We claim to be “Speakin In Tongues”, in honor of a letter written by Gloria Anzaldua, a letter that challenges each of us to reclaim our voices in the master discourse. Our stories are a means of survival we gift to future generations.
